Last year, when we also had to cancel our fall conference due to COVID restrictions, several Porchers hosted smaller gatherings of local readers. We know that our readers are scattered around the country, but these gatherings provide an opportunity to meet and converse with like-minded people in your neck of the woods. If you’re interested in opening up your porch (or some other venue) to one of these gatherings, email Jeff with a proposed date. Your name, email, date, and city will be listed on the 2021 Porches page, and those interested in joining can email you directly for more details. There’s no prescriptions on what topics to discuss at such gatherings, but the fall issue of Local Culture might provide one place to begin. If you host a local gathering, we’re happy to send you a few extra issues to pass out.
