Anyone blessed enough to be within shouting distance of Batavia, New York, this Saturday, October 26, at 8 pm is invited to drop by the Pok-a-Dot, venerable and funky diner, for the Sixteenth Annual Batavia Reads John Gardner, during which we read (over beef on wecks and coffee) from the works of Batavia’s novelist, moralist, exhorter, and kinda faithful son John Gardner. (I tried to provide a tantalizing foretaste with youtube clips from previous Gardner evenings, but my technoidiocy got in the way.)
