Russell Kirk, perhaps more than any self-described conservative thinker of the past century, celebrated the virtues of place, limits, and liberty. His ancestral estate in Mecosta, MI has long been a center not only for the downtrodden and oppressed, but for the fomenting of localist ideas and principles. In conjunction with this year’s FPR conference in Grand Rapids, we have arranged for interested attendees to make the one-hour trek north on Sunday, October 6th, to the Kirk Center in Mecosta. More information about the Kirk Center and their various projects can be found on their website. Interested parties should contact Bernie Francheschi for more information about the field trip.
