Christina Bieber Lake is professor of English (emerita) at Wheaton College, where she taught contemporary American literature and literary theory for twenty-five years. She is author most recently of the award-winning Beyond the Story: American Literary Fiction and the Limits of Materialism. A Flannery O’Connor scholar, Lake has also published extensively on biotechnology and the ethics of personhood. She enjoys leading faculty development workshops and retreats. She lives with her husband, son, and two crazy dogs in Denton, TX.
