http://greatconversationpublication.orgDrew Maglio is a seasoned freelance writer and serial boat-restorer (long story) turned professional mechanic who graduated with his master's degree in liberal arts from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland. Before St. John's, Drew—a native of Palm Beach County, Florida—graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he was a member of the Supper Honors Program and President's Lyceum, receiving his B.A. in History with a minor in business administration. During his collegiate career, Drew studied at Wycliffe Hall at the University of Oxford in England. In 2020, he founded "The Great Conversation" dedicated to the propagation—and critical discussion of—the Great Books of the Western World. In 2021, he founded Capital Boat Works, a marine service, repair, and consulting business based out of Annapolis, MD.
When he is not working, reading, or writing, Drew enjoys boating, sailing, diving/snorkeling, basketball, football, golf, and a wide variety of other outdoor and hands-on pursuits. Drew is currently putting the finishing touches on his first book, Sailing Walden, or a Life at Sea: an introspective and philosophical account of his experience living aboard and traveling via sailboat—inspired by Thoreau's Walden which was the namesake for Drew's sailboat and watery Walden Project. Drew aims to publish his peculiar book by the end of 2024 (if it is ready).
