"Wally Chamberlain" grew up on a third-generation dairy farm in rural New England, surrounded by a large extended family. He was the first in the family to go to college and, like many such cases, was thusly "thrown" into the world of upward and outward mobility, away from home. Having witnessed firsthand the negative trade-offs of leaving home, Wally uses his voice to evangelize the joys of rural life and encourage rural kids to consider rootedness in lieu of falling victim to the economic and cultural enticements that disrupt generational continuity in place.
